Lithium batteries are widely used in mobile phones, computers and other equipment. Fuel cells were born for electric/hybrid vehicles. The chemical reaction of hydrogen oxidation is used to generate electricity, and its combustion products are water and a very small amount of carbon dioxide, which has almost no impact on the environment. So for electric vehicles, should we choose lithium batteries or fuel cells? No one is conclusive, but we can understand these two types of batteries through the following sets of comparisons.
Traditional lead-acid batteries. The lead-acid battery has low specific energy, and the overall mass and volume required for the weight of the new energy vehicle is relatively large, the driving history of a single charge is relatively short, the service life is short, and the later use cost is high. In addition, lead-acid batteries take a long time to charge, lead is a heavy metal, and there is pollution, which runs counter to the concept of new energy vehicles.

High cost and complicated hydrogen production process have become the main obstacles to the development of fuel cells. Hydrogen is obtained by electrolysis or steam reforming. Lithium-ion batteries are relatively inexpensive to produce, and they are easy to recharge, making them more cost-effective than other portable energy sources.
