Lithium-ion battery: is a secondary battery (rechargeable battery) that mainly relies on the movement of lithium ions between the positive and negative electrodes to work. During the charging and discharging process, Li+ intercalates and deintercalates back and forth between the two electrodes: during charging, lithium ions are deintercalated from the positive electrode, intercalated into the negative electrode through the electrolyte, and the negative electrode is in a lithium-rich state; during discharge, the opposite is true.

Lithium-ion batteries use carbon materials as the negative electrode and lithium-containing compounds as the positive electrode. There is no metal lithium, only lithium ions. This is a lithium-ion battery. The principle of metal lithium battery is the same as that of ordinary dry battery. It uses metal lithium as an electrode, and generates electricity through the corrosion or oxidation of metal lithium.
